• Students deserve to have an environment that eases their learning and comfort.

• Students must be given tools to structure their own accountability.

• Competency-based evaluation and objective rubrics are required for accurate assessment.

• High-stakes examinations threaten student well-being and mental health.

• Students should have access to music, communication devices and other support materials if they demonstrate an ability to use them without interference in their or their classmates’ access to classroom content.

• Black, Indigenous and visible minority students deserve equitable educational outcomes and must be given a substantial voice in school governance.

• English is a colonial language and must be taught with extreme sensitivity to the cultures its use displaces.
